American Red Cross Colorado VHF Net

This is the monthly VHF net for the Rocky Mountain Region of the American Red Cross, covering Colorado and Wyoming. It is held on the 1st Thursday of each month at 18:00 local time. It is open to all interested amateur radio operators. Held on Colorado Connection system of linked repeaters, in Denver the 145.310 repeater is very effective.

Train Spotting – Union Pacific Big Boy

September 5

Field Exercise with Net Control Support We will be working with the neighboring districts to test: interoperability, message passing, and repeater coverage. Oh, did I mention trains? Union Pacific's Big Boy Engine will be arriving in Denver after running through Kit Carson, Lincoln, Arapahoe, and Adams counties. This will be a joint exercise with the other districts in Region 10, to confirm interoperability and repeater coverage, by relaying messages from the eastern counties into Denver, and back out. 2021 Simulated Emergency Test

On October 5, 2021, Denver ARES will participate in the nation wide Simulated Emergency Test. This will be a field exercise with directed net control support. There will be roles for both home stations, field station and activation of the Denver Emergency Operations Center. We will work with the surrounding districts, the adjoining regions, and the other groups across the state of Colorado to practice the skills needed to provide emergency communications in the event of a state wide emergency.…
